Chapter 11 of Ninjai's saga is unveiled!

lnChapter 11 of Ninjai's saga is unveiled! Click here to check
it out.

Don't forget to press F11 for a full screen, clutter-free experience.

Chapter 12 will be released March 15th...

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts at AtomFilms, they are not going to be able to release
Chapter 12 until March 15th. They've guaranteed us that they will release it on that date.

We have Chapter 12 all ready, but unfortunately AtomFilms isn't able to release it any
sooner--and we don't have the money ourselves to pay for the amount of broadband needed to
deliver it to millions of viewers.

Hope you enjoy Chapter 11!

Best wishes,
-the Ninjai Gang

Get earthquake insurance

In the United States about 5,000 quakes can be felt each year. Since 1900, earthquakes have
occurred in 39 states and caused damage in all 50.
One of the worst catastrophes in U.S. history,
the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, caused direct quake losses of about $24 million and fire
losses of about $500 million, according to the National Geophysical Data Center. That would be
about $10.5 billion in 2003 dollars, a small portion of the potential cost of damage from a similar
earthquake today.
Earthquakes in the United States are not covered under standard homeowners or business
insurance policies.
"Call your insurance agent and add it to your home owners insurance"
Coverage is usually available for earthquake damage in the form of an
endorsement to a home or business insurance policy. Cars and other vehicles are covered for
earthquake damage under the comprehensive part of the auto insurance policy.

Earthquake Measurement: The size and magnitude of an earthquake is measured in several
different ways. The Richter Scale measures the size of earthquake waves. It was developed by
Charles Richter in the 1930s and is a logarithmic measurement of the amount of energy released
by an earthquake, see below. The Mercalli Intensity Scale evaluates the intensity of a quake
according to observed severity at specific locations. It rates the intensity on a Roman numeral
scale that ranges from I to XII. Today, seismologists are using the Moment Magnitude Scale,
which measures the size of the earthquake’s fault, and how much of the earth slips at the time of
the quake. A number of readings are taken, averaged and then adjusted to generate numbers
similar to the Richter Scale. This allows the magnitude of earthquakes measured on these new
scales to be compared with earthquakes recorded earlier. According to the Moment Magnitude
Scale, the severity of an earthquake is categorized as the following:
5.0 Small
5.0 – 6.0 Moderate
6.0 – 7.0 Large
7.0 - 7.8 Major
7.8 Great
An increase of one unit of magnitude, for example, from a 4.0 to a 5.0 quake, is a 10-fold increase
in wave amplitude on a seismogram, or about a 30-fold increase in energy released. Thus, the
difference between a 4.0 and a 6.0 magnitude quake would be a release of energy 900 times (30
times 30) as great as a 4.0 magnitude quake since the magnitude is a logarithmic value.

Carnivore

Carnivore does exist The FBI has steered clear of its much-criticized e-mail eavesdropping
system in favor of off-the-shelf wares when it comes to court-ordered surveillance. The
agency last week admitted it made little or no use of the system, first known as
Carnivore
and then as DCS 1000, during 2002 and 2003, opting instead to use commercial software for
court-approved wiretaps of Internet communications.

And then i read on eWeek that Microsoft is freeking about some guy
posting this photo
on his web site.
What a mixed up world we live in.

Geomagnetic Storm Warning

Two coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are heading toward Earth and they could spark strong
geomagnetic storms when they arrive on January 16th-17th. Sky watchers should be alert
for auroras. The CMEs were blasted into space by
M8- and X2-class explosions above giant sunspot 720 on Jan. 15th

Visit spaceweather.com for more information and updates.

BIG SUNSPOT: In less than 48 hours, sunspot 720 has blossomed from an almost invisible speck
into a dark behemoth 5 times wider than Earth.
Solar activity could increase if this rapid growth continues. Already the 'spot is big enough to see,
but never stare at the sun. Check spaceweather.com for safe solar observing tips.

SOLAR WIND: Earth is inside a high-speed solar wind stream that is causing some mild
geomagnetic storms. Sky watchers in e.g. Alaska, Canada and Scandinavia should be alert for
auroras tonight.

Mercury Poisoning?

“A surgeon had tremors so bad she was afraid she’d have to give up operating.”
“A geophysicist was forced to quit work, noting severe memory problems and
inability to think.”
A D.C. area woman “had been losing her short- and long-term memory.”

Recently in the news more and more people are coming out about instances of mercury
poisoning, generally from a diet high in fish. The seriousness of their symptoms varies,
but their stories are similar.

In early 2005, Oceana will kick off an international campaign to protect children, adults
and marine life from mercury poisoning. Our two-pronged approach includes public
education and mercury contamination reduction.

If you or someone you know has experienced poisoning from mercury,
oceana.org want's to hear your story. Please follow this link and e-mail us your
story:

Be sure to include contact information (including email address and phone number)
in case we need to contact you for additional information.

And check back: starting later this month, your story may be posted on
the Oceana Web site.

Thanks for helping us protect Americans from this dangerous contaminant.
If you have questions or feedback, send them to me at mercury@oceana.org!

Sincerely,

Dawn Winalski
Campaign Projects Manager

some Good BBQ at an airport, i think the name of the place is Caroilina open pit
BBQ, it was good!

Murder Holes @ Goodrich Castle

Today we went to Goodrich Castle in Wales,

The development of
"the castle" from a fortified site into a home and administrative centre can
approximately be dated to the period between
1160 and 1270. Goodrich Castle, an
English castle on the Welsh Marches (now Herefordshire). When looking at any
castle of this period, three main areas of

the site emerge with their own specific
uses: the keep, the courtyard, and the gatehouse.
the keep dates from the mid-twelfth century (c.1160-70), and it is the earliest part
of the castle. It consists, in its most basic form, of three rooms on top of each
other, and stands about 25x25 feet square (a small keep). The original entrance
to the keep was up a flight of external stairs to the first floor doorway (an
adequate defence); in the C14th or C15th, this was blocked in as a window, and
the door was placed on the ground floor - an example of the keep reaching the
end of it's use for defence. Movement inside the keep was facilitated by an
internal staircase in the NW corner of the keep, leading from the first floor to the
second, and from there to the roof; access to the basement level was via a trap
door. The keep did not contain any of the utilities one may have grown used to
finding in a keep - the chapel and hall, for example, both lay in the courtyard
area. That the hall was situated elsewhere may indicate that the lord lived in
separate quarters to his garrison (an example of Bastard Feudalism), or that the
constable's quarters were in the keep. An alternative explanation may lie in the
fact that the castle's builders - the Fitz Baderons - were a relatively poor noble
family, and could not afford to build such facilities into their castle along with
the rest of the initial outlay cost. The walls of the keep were protected by clasping
buttresses at the angles, and a buttress central to each of the flat sides - these
were intended to deflect catapult shot. A visit to the castle today allows the
visitor to see 2 original windows on the top floor of the keep, and the marking of
the uppermost storey with a string coursing of chevron ornamentation.
