I knew that I had come face to face with some one whose mere personality was so fascinating

--I have always loved the following Quote : "When our eyes met, I felt that I was growing pale. A curious sensation of terror came over me. I knew that I had come face to face with some one whose mere personality was so fascinating that, if I allowed it to do so, it would absorb my whole nature, my whole soul, my very art itself. I did not want any external influence in my life."

Its from The Book The Picture of Dorian Gray By Oscar Wilde its a deeply written story of a young boy whose Beauty, year after year, retain the same appearance of innocent beauty But the poor deeds he choses, show only on his his portrait.

Oscar Wilde also said "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful."

And Long before The Stonewall Riots.............Oscar Wilde had one of literary history's most explosive love affairs with Lord Alfred "Bosie" Douglas. In 1895, Bosie's father, the Marquess of Queensberry, delivered a note to the Albemarle Club addressed to "Oscar Wilde posing as sodomite." With Bosie's encouragement, Wilde sued the Marquess for libel. He not only lost but he was tried twice for "gross indecency" and sent to prison with two years' hard labor. With this publication of the uncensored trial transcripts, readers can for the first time in more than a century hear Wilde at his most articulate and brilliant. The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde documents an alarmingly swift fall from grace; it is also a supremely moving testament to the right to live, work, and love as one's heart dictates.

--Meandering the path of life.......

--Meandering the path of life.......

I swear sometimes life throws you a curve ball, like a lazy Thursday when out of no where a bus t-bones you on your drive home..I doubt there is another soul who could put up with my....well Eccentric, Egocentric, and just plain odd ways..so i have stopped looking about 3 years ago, i was in a relationship for 7+ years, it ended 3 years ago...been a great 3 years, I have been blessed to make many great friends all the years of my life, but in the last 5 i have become a member of my Gay community, I have found a strength i never could have understood without going to my local bar, i never was a bar fly when younger so i missed the WHORE/SLUT years and never looked back. The Community has has become a refuge to me and now i feel like im missing my friends/Family if i miss a Friday or Saturday night.
Along this journey we call life, I like to think i have developed a strong sense of respect for my fellow man and that has direct bearing on every action i take in life.
Well in the last month or so i have met some dynamic personality's, well one of you has ignited a small spark or ember i swear i thought Smokey the bear and i had extinguished a few years ago.. i swear im kicking sand, pouring water and pissing on it but i cant seem to put it out......so what the hell if i cant control my heart/emotions what damn good am i, years of Ancient Eastern Philosophy and arts..and a solid sound mind, yet i feel powerless over this......
And im at a loss over how i am to proceed, i have over a 100 questions im asking myself and i have more than that id like to ask you...I guess if i get the chance ill ask umm if not i hope this spark burns its self out without leaving a blister...opps too late i feel a little blister allready........
Ok i gotta go Center my being and try to clear my Chakaras energy.................-----------------------------

Find thoughts that feel good

--

Find thoughts that feel good, because it is inevitable that you are going to always be moving toward something. So why not be moving toward something that is pleasing? You can't cease to vibrate, and Law of Attraction will not stop responding to the vibration that you are offering. So, expansion is inevitable. You provide it, whether you know you do, or not. The only question is, what is the standard of joy that you are demanding for yourself? From your Nonphysical perspective, it's a high, high standard.

When you reach for the thought that feels better, the Universe is now responding differently to you because of that effort. And so, the things that follow you get better and better, too. So it gets easier to reach for the thought that feels better, because you are on ever-increasing, improving platforms that feel better.

Our Love,
Jerry and Esther

Emergency Planning & Response
MBAHA Member Update
September/4/2008
Subject: Please Notify Us of Media Sightings/Contacts for Hanna

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce/Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association needs your help.

Media will be visiting the Grand Strand to report on tropical storm-related activities. Media typically show up along the oceanfront, most probably near a hotel. TV media are easy to spot because they bring their satellite trucks.

The Myrtle Beach Area Recovery Council (ARC) Communications Committee will be providing media support. The communications committee is a group of area public relations professionals dedicated to collecting, monitoring, and distributing reports to media from the tourism, hospitality, golf, entertainment, and retail business industries.

Essentially, the communications team wants to make sure news reports contain accurate, consistent, and timely information on the overall condition of the area.

First, take this opportunity to designate a media contact person for your business. If the media should call, visit, or e-mail your business, this person will direct this individual to a committee member.

If you are the media contact person for your business, please call a committee member as soon as possible if your business is contacted by regional or national media or if you see media on or near your property:

Nancy Gray, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce
(843) 655-7629

Pauline Levesque, Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association
(843) 421-7285
Business Tip:
  • Have one or two persons in your organization appointed to be the media spokesperson.
  • Keep them informed of any changes in the storm or updates so if they are approached and would like to respond to media they will have accurate and current information.
  • Make sure that all employees are told that any questions from media are to be handled and/or referred to the appointed persons.
  • If you already have a policy in place regarding the handling of media, it wouldn't hurt to review it with staff.
  • Don't forget to keep all customers and guests updated on the status of the storm and your particular business to alleviate any potential misunderstandings.

This should keep your business in a more positive position in the media and with your guests and customers.

Stay Safe!!

Here are some suggested steps for hospitality businesses:
1. Make sure we have the email and/or fax for each person in your business you want notified about emergency conditions. You may add to our list by having them sign up here:
2. Make sure all staff those working and those scheduled to work this week, have a copy and good understanding of their roles and responsiblilies during emergencies, specifically hurricanes.
The next few days would be a good time for employees to review their family hurricane plans, including items that may be needed like water, batteries, flashlights, etc. Employees should also monitor the local media for continued updates have a contact person to call regarding your business plans and operations.
3. Be sure to prepare for notification to visitors - especially any foreign workers currently in your employ, all employees and guests.
4. Evacuation routes should be printed and placed in each room with identifying emergency shelters.

Visit http://www.horrycounty.org/hurricane_info/evacuation.asp for the evacuation routes. Clearly mark those that apply for your property and/or business location.
For Foreign Workers - be sure to explain the process our community uses to evacuate and make sure they have the bus schedules and emergency shelter information. They won't get this information anywhere but from your business since many do not have televisions. If you need information in Spanish, Polish or russian go to www.mbhospitality.org and download International Student Guides they can also be found on this page:
5. Please also post your cancellation and refund policy clearly and concisely for the benefit of those who may need to cut their vacation short. We receive many ethics complaints during times like these due to a lack of a clear and consistent policy and a common understanding between both parties as to what a customer can expect.
6. Determine if guests will need extra assistance in the event of an evacuation, particularity of they are flying. All cabs and buses will be in use and may not be readily available if your guests wait too long to make arrangements.
7. Check with vendors that provide clean up services and the like to secure your spot on the clean up.
8. Bring a post hurricane form with you if you evacuate and have it ready to fill in.
More helpful materials can be found at the Hurricane Center.

Before a Hurricane

  • Know where you will go if you have to evacuate.
  • Plan your evacuation route.
Contact the local emergency management office or other disaster preparedness organization, and ask for the community hurricane preparedness plan. This plan should include information on the safest evacuation route and nearby shelters. ===========

If you are ordered to evacuate, you should also take:

Personal items, such as toilet paper, toothbrush, towel, tampons, soap Books, small games and other small entertainment items Important papers and valuables in a waterproof container Names and addresses of relatives, friends and other important contacts Clothing and bedding Cash (with some small bills) and Credit Cards - Banks and ATMs may not be available for extended periods Sturdy shoes

  • Before the storm, turn your refrigerator and freezer to the coldest setting and drape blankets over them, but keep bottom vents clear. Then move perishables you'll use first into ice chests to limit opening of refrigerators.
  • Designate one cooler you will open regularly; fill that with drinks and less perishable items. Set aside other coolers for more perishable things such as meats and open them only rarely.
  • Crank up your ice maker, break out the ice cube trays or fill jugs with water, so you can be making and storing ice in your freezer or coolers around the clock.
  • Store cubes or small blocks of ice in sealed bags and containers so you can drink it after it melts.
  • Clean your bathtub out, then wash it with bleach. Rinse thoroughly. If possible, line it with plastic. Also fill your washer! Then fill it and as many clean bottles as you can with drinking water. Fill your toilet tank; you'll want it to flush after the storm.

Hardware

  • Hand tools - hammer, screwdrivers to use now, shovel and pickax for after the storm
  • Power screwdriver
  • 4x8-foot sheets of plywood 5/8-inch to 1/2-inch thick to put over windows. Ask for exterior plywood.
  • 1/4 machine screw sockets and screws
  • Plastic sheeting to cover furniture
  • Rope
  • Sturdy working gloves
  • Duct tape to waterproof items; masking tape isn't strong enough.
  • Canvas tarps
  • Nails. There are many kinds, so look over your home now and determine what you will need.
