Order of the Quetzalcoatl Ritual: "The Order of Quetzalcoatl is a very unique organization of Shrine Masons. The Order is composed of only those who have distinguished themselves in their service to the Temples - who have associated together, for fun and fellowship. Local Teocallis are virtually autonomous, subject only to conformance to the Supreme Teocalli bylaws. Each set is own membership qualification, meeting and attendance requirements, rules for elections of officers, fees and dues, in accordance with the general guidelines established by the Supreme Teocalli. Local Teocallis are combined into regional associations, similar to Imperial Shrine Associations. The ritual is divided into three distinct parts. Once accepted into membership an individual is a Coate (or tribesman) of the Order and is given an obligation in which he promises that he will avail himself to receive the two degrees of the Order, that of Initiation (Artisan degree) and that of Consecration (Master Artisan). Upon initiation through a ritualistic full feathered ceremonial, a candidate is made an Artisan. Thereafter, by consecration ceremonies either at the annual 'Feast of Fire', or upon a pilgrimage to the pyramids in Mexico, primarily the Temple of Quetzalcoatl at Teotihuacan (Mexico City) or Chichen Itza (Cancun), a candidate may be consecrated a Master Artisan. The one with the other would be incomplete and it is urged that the candidate by informed that although initiation is highly instructive and of great interest, it is desirable that all candidates should, whenever possible, make the pilgrimage to the Ancient Temple of Quetzalcoatl. Accordingly, although fun is the name of the game, fun and fellowship, with a purpose, is truly the name of the game." Posted @ 8/21/2006 11:38:45 PM

99-1581 -- Voirol v. American Federation of Human Rights -- 07/26/2002: "Freemasonry, the largest and most widely established fraternal order in the world today, enjoys a long and colorful history. Rich in tradition and ritual, Freemasonry's roots run deep. Born of the guild system of medieval Europe, Freemasons first shared a common craft--stonecutters--but soon embraced members from various backgrounds who shared common ideals--fraternity, equality, peace, truth, virtue, enlightenment. Members gathered at their 'lodges' (usually taverns and alehouses) to lend mutual aid and support, first to each other, and later, to all of humanity. Lodge meetings became social rather than business occasions, and on St. John the Baptist's Day, June 24, 1717, at the Goose and Gridiron alehouse, four lodges in London joined in forming a 'Mother Grand Lodge of the World,' soon to be known as the Grand Lodge of England, and elected their first Grand Master. Norman Davies, Europe: A History 633 (1996). This first Grand Lodge became the wellspring of Masonic organization and practice for all Masonic orders and lodges thereafter established in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the world." Today, as never before our country needs the support and loyalty of all its citizens, and I am sure that as long as there are three million Freemasons in the country, all good men and true, who believe in a system of morals, and the Constitution of the United states, we can safely face the future, no matter what it may bring forth. ~ Brother Harry S Truman ~ Past Grand Master 33rd President of the United States of America -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=--=-=- Posted @ 9/19/2005 02:41:00 AM

Democrat & Chronicle: Local News: "September 12, 2005) — CANANDAIGUA — The mysterious disappearance of mob-linked union leader Jimmy Hoffa in 1975 continues to baffle authorities and inspire conspiracy theories. But Hoffa's disappearance 30 years ago is a relatively recent event compared with the strange case of William Morgan, who vanished — like Hoffa, without a trace — after being bailed out of jail in Canandaigua by members of a local Masonic lodge 179 years ago today, Sept. 12, 1826. The story of Morgan's disappearance 'remains touchy stuff — to this day,' said Kathleen Kutolowski, chairwoman of the history department at the State University College at Brockport. She will lecture Sept. 22 at the Ontario County Historical Society on the role of Freemasonry in Morgan's mysterious abduction and disappearance. Morgan's abduction gave rise to the nation's first-ever third political party — the Antimasons — and ultimately reshaped the U.S. political landscape. 'The American public came to feel that the incident — and resulting feckless efforts to prosecute Morgan's suspected killers — was part of a widespread conspiracy to thwart justice, in the same way that some people viewed the Watergate incident as a high-level cover-up and denial of justice,' she said. According to historical accounts based on police and news reports of the era, Morgan was targeted by the secret society — whose members included such U.S. heroes as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin — when he conspired with a Batavia newspaper publisher, David Miller, to publish a book describing the Masons' clandestine rituals, signs and signals. In a misguided effort to derail the book, Miller's printing shop was set ablaze and Morgan was arrested on Sept. 11, 1826, after being falsely charged with stealing a collar and tie from a prominent Masonic merchant. Although the theft charge was dismissed, he was ordered held at the Ontario Count" Posted @ 9/13/2005 06:42:24 PM

The BG News - 'The Cave' is a visually appealing film: "The villain is a creature that has lived since the times of the crusades. The Knights Templar would enter the cave and battle this ferocious demon, and it still lurks trapped in the cave till modern days. Director Bruce Hunt must have wanted to keep the audience in suspense about the creature, because he blurs it till the very end. I believe that was a shame, since the creature is quite detailed and spectacular in its own gruesome way. The blurriness may make some audience members a bit queasy." Posted @ 9/13/2005 02:17:49 AM

Scotsman.com News - Scotland - 'Da Vinci Code' tours to Rosslyn Chapel fuel fears: "Founded in 1446 by Sir William of St Clair, the third and last St Clair Prince of Orkney, Rosslyn Chapel is said to have been used by the Knights Templar as a hiding place for dozens of holy relics taken from Jerusalem. Its sand-filled vaults, which are as deep as the chapel is tall, have been claimed by some to contain early Gospels, the Ark of the Covenant and even the mummified head of Jesus Christ. Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal: "Discs in night sky over Dryden By Bryan Meadows - The Chronicle-Journal August 29, 2005 There’s been another UFO sighting in the Northwest. Two unidentified discs were spotted in the night sky above Dryden on Aug. 1. According to the HBCC UFO research website (www.hbccufo.org), two disc-like objects lit up the sky above the Gamble housing subdivision at about 2:50 a.m. An eyewitness said the objects moved across the sky slowly from north to south, with one of them moving sideways for a short distance, then back again. They made no noise as they moved south over the subdivision toward the yacht club. Director of HBCC UFO Research Brian Vike said he received a similar report four days later of a flying disc near Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba." Posted @ 9/12/2005 01:22:16 AM

Mysterious circle found at Fort Ancient complex: "Mysterious circle found at Fort Ancient complex Technology helps in discovery of site worked since the 1800s By Benjamin Kline Dayton Daily News LEBANON | The Ohio Historical Society has announced the discovery of a circle approximately three feet below grade within its Fort Ancient complex, on a bluff above the Little Miami River, seven miles southeast of Lebanon." "We assume it's a structure built by the Hopewell culture," said Brad Lepper, curator of archeology at the historical society in Columbus. Why did prehistoric American Indians build an earthen circle 200 feet in diameter at their Fort Ancient religious center? Was it mounded up, then flattened out? Or was it a ditch that later was filled in? What ceremonies did they hold there? Archeologists could take years digging for the right answers, beating the drum of scientific inquiry. Haaretz - Israel News - Mysterious Temple Mount artifact evokes Da Vinci Code: "Accepted scientific research confirms that the Knights Templar built their base on the Temple Mount, around the underground compound known as Solomon's Stables. However, the whole story of a connection between the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail is pure fairy tale, according to archaeologists and experts on Temple Mount history. Barkai, an expert on biblical archaeology at Bar-Ilan University, and Zweig, a master's student there, have spent 10 months examining rubble from the Solomon's Stables area of the Temple Mount. This dirt dates from the Crusades, when Muslim rulers apparently blocked up the spaces along the periphery of Solomon's Stables. Barkai and Zweig discovered in the rubble a cross-shaped bronze pendant measuring a square centimeter. The pendant, which was originally gold-plated, bears mysterious symbols: on one side are a hammer, pincers and nails; the flip side has what looks like a sun, as well as an altar. But the main symbol, which immediately grabs the attention, is the Holy Grail lying on a crown of thorns. According to Barkai, some of the people who saw the pendant suggested that this was an artifact that related to 'The Da Vinci Code,' but Barkai was dismissive. 'I heard several interesting explanations along those lines,' he said, 'but in my opinion there is here nothing more than a coincidence that ignites the imagination.' Zweig decided to examine the pendant thoroughly. He supposed that it dated from the 19th century, since Christians had been barred from visiting the Temple Mount from the end of the Crusades until 1840. Based on the symbols, and particularly the work tools, he assumed the pendant was related to the Freemasons, a semi-secret fraternity that was founded in 18th-century England and established branches, or lodges, in nearly all Western countries. Zweig could not locate an expert on Masonic symbols in Israel, so he contacted Prof" Posted @ 9/12/2005 12:23:13 AM

EastBay Publishing: Local News Service: "Washington Manor residents started to wonder what was causing those loud bangs during the last month. The booms occurred during the day from time to time, coming from somewhere in the industrial area. “It sounds like a shotgun going off,” said one caller to the San Leandro Times. It turned out that the booms were coming from the L-3 Titan Corporation on Merced Street, which is a government contractor. The company had a permit from the city to do the testing through Aug. 31, so yesterday was the last day. Titan does research and development, including simulating lightning strikes on aircraft and making x-ray machines to test electronic equipment. Titan sent a letter out to the surrounding businesses before the testing started so people wouldn’t be alarmed. Titan issued a written statement to the San Leandro Times that said they were experimenting with an “acoustic cannon” and one possible use was “crowd control.” The statement was signed, “Senior Management.” " Posted @ 9/12/2005 12:17:56 AM

Lowcountry NOW: Local News - 'An awesome day' 05/24/04: "'An awesome day' BLUFFTON: Campbell Chapel AME dedicates its new church. By Jennifer Moore Carolina Morning News This was no ordinary church service. The daylight streaming into Campbell Chapel AME Church through the stained glass windows was punctuated by camera flashes. The church's usual members squeezed into pews next to politicians, community members and visiting clergy. After 130 years in the 150-seat chapel on Boundary Street, Campbell Chapel AME dedicated its new 450-seat facility with ceremony, praise and thanks. 'This is an awesome day,' said the Rev. Isaac Wilborn, the church's pastor for seven years. Church member Annie Welch agreed, calling the day a 'Grand Campbell milestone in the grand and big city of Bluffton, South Carolina.' Welch told the congregation, 'God chose ordinary people like us to make a difference in this community. But it is not about us - it is all about God.' She invited the crowd in the overflowing church to attend services regularly. 'You are welcome in faith, you are welcome in love and you are welcome in fellowship,' she said. State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, D-Ridgeland, said he was thrilled to see the church finally finished. 'I wish only that the General Assembly looked this good and acted this well,' he said. 'It gives me great pleasure to stand here and see how God has blessed Campbell and the Bluffton community.' To mark the occasion, the Right Rev. Henry Allen Belin Jr., presiding bishop of South Carolina's Episcopal district, led the beginning procession and gave the sermon. 'This is a joyful occasion,' he said, describing the church as a 'beautiful facility' and 'a great addition to Bluffton.' Doug Corkern, the architect who designed the church, said he has worked on a lot of projects, but Sunday was 'one of my proudest days.' After the service, the building's cornerstone was dedicated in a Freemason ceremony an" Posted @ 8/16/2005 02:50:47 AM

Masonic History: " Freemasonry in the United States It appears reasonable to assume that there were many Masons among the early settlers of this country. There is no reason to doubt that they did meet, hold meetings, and initiate candidates under the 'prescriptive right' meaning that they formed Lodges without Warrants, acting upon their 'right from time immemorial.' There is evidence that a deputation dated June 5, 1730, was granted to Daniel Coxe, of New Jersey, by the Duke of Norfolk, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of England, appointing him Provincial Grand Master of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Moreover, there is evidence that Brethren meeting in Philadelphia applied to him in 1730 and received authority to continue to meet as a regular Lodge." Posted @ 8/16/2005 02:44:31 AM

History of Freemasonry - Masonic Legends, Theories and Facts: "the history of Freemasonry prior to the 18th Century is hard to find. Theories vary wildly from the plausible to the sensational. Most masons believe that Freemasonry is derived from the early medieval stonemasons guilds and enquire no further. However, a well rounded study in Freemasonry should look more deeply at all possible roots, even if only to be able to dismiss most of them." Posted @ 8/16/2005 02:30:55 AM

AP Connecticut Tribe to moved ahead with burial ground restoration Email this story Printer friendly format August 4, 2005, 8:13 AM EDT NORWICH, Conn. -- A state agency has given the Mohegan tribe the green light to demolish the Norwich Masonic Temple and restore the tribal burial ground under it. The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism Wednesday unanimously granted the tribe's request to tear down the building. advertisement advertisement The tribe will quickly follow through on plans to demolish the building and restore the Royal Mohegan Burial Ground, tribal member Melissa Tantaquidgeon Zobel said. "It's a sigh of relief," Tantaquidgeon Zobel said. "This is a project that has been in the works literally centuries. The folks I took with us as a team felt very responsible for fulfilling the wishes of our ancestors." The tribe had tried to keep the site undeveloped since the last tribal burial there in 1876. After unsuccessful tribal lawsuits in the 1890s and 1930s to spare the 3.41-acre property from development, the tribe purchased the land from the City of Norwich in 1999 for slightly more than $1 million. Mohegan Chief Uncas is buried somewhere on the site, although the exact location is unknown. All Mohegan descendants had the option of being buried there in 1876 after the tribe's reservation ended in 1870. ___ Information from: Norwich Bulletin Posted @ 8/16/2005 01:41:00 AM
